Sun Protection
UV exposure is a major cause of premature wrinkles. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 daily, even on cloudy days or indoors near windows, and wear protective clothing like long sleeves and hats to shield your skin from harmful rays. Sunglasses can prevent squinting, which reduces fine lines around the eyes.
Stay hydrated
Your body needs water for almost everything. Drinking water is essential for staying hydrated from the inside out and for supple skin. According to a 2024 study in 43 women, higher water intake may be related to improved skin barrier function. However, the study authors note that applying moisturizers was better for improving skin hydration than water intake. Other research also suggests a possible connection — but a weak one — between skin hydration and additional water intake.
